In a recent article that I read on Buffer, statistics are showing that a sixty second vidoe is equal to 1.8 million views. This is in large part to the power of social media and most importantly, in my opinion, YouTube and it being the second largest search engine on the world wide web. As you can see from the video above it really only takes about sixty seconds to make a powerful point, set the tone of your message, and get the attention of anyone that might be searching and seeking out this type of video. At the same time, what you are able to do through video is create a much more personal tone with the viewers because they can see your face, watch your body language and connect with your message much faster.
If you really want to get down to brass tax on why video is so powerful, is that advertisers, marketers, and the coveted marketplace are looking at more video content than ever before. Here are five crucial facts regarding video content based on a recent study from HubSpot. Your can read the full article based on these statistics here.
- 96% of B2B organizations used video content of some kind in their marketing campaigns of which 73% reported a positive ROI.
- 1/3 of all online activity is spent watching video content
- In 2016 video ad spending reached $5.4 billion dollars
- Enjoyment of video ads increased purchase intent by 97% and brand association by 139%
- More video content is uploaded in 30 days than the three major U.S. television networks combined have uploaded in 30 years
As you can see the numbers are astonishing, but the more compelling fact that is being left off the list is that, in my opinion, is the fact that there are still millions of brands, individuals, and products that have not embraced video content. Everyone that either runs a business, owns a company, or sells a product knows about the world wide web. We’ve all gone to the search engines to find a website, a product review, and YouTube revolutionized the way we now all learn how to build, fix, or develop just about anything.
When you think in terms of how to increase or even improve your SEO ranking on the coveted Google search engine you have to think about how you can stand out among your competition and even those more noticed people who share a similar name or even job title. Video, in my opinion, can be the equalizer for just that. I would rather drive people to a potential video where they can start creating an immediate relationship with myself or my message vs. the standard methods like a social media post or even a blog post.
Please don’t get me wrong here, social media posts and blog posts are still very valuable assets to your brand and business and ones that I use very regularly; however, by incorporating more video content to add to those posts and blog articles has helped improve my personal brand standing and also my views on social media and blog sites. With that being said many of you may feel stuck or even intimated to create a video or might not even know how. Here are three very simple tips to create your first piece of video content.
- Write down three topics that you would like to create a sixty second video on
- Select the one you are the most passionate about
- Using the video recording button on your smartphone, record yourself discussing this passionate topic for sixty seconds
Bonus Tip: Upload this video to YouTube and create a nice title then share the video URL on your social media page/pages
Congratulations you have just now created and uploaded your very first piece of video content that will start your branding journey through video content creation.
